Autumn (March-May)

Autumn is when all the hard work comes to fruition and we harvest the grapes. Vineyard operations include:

• Count bunches of fruit in data panels and estimate crop yield,
• Leaf pluck extra leaves in canopy that shade fruit,
• Remove by hand any bunches of immature grapes,
• Apply bird nets to prevent birds attacking fruit,
• Erect electronic bird scarer to deter birds,
• Launch bird kite to deter birds,
• Monitor sugar levels in fruit to determine harvest date,
• Harvest grapes
• Reconcile and file vineyard records for Quality Assurance system
