Summer (December-February)

Summer is when the berries begin to ripen by swelling and accumulating sugar. Vineyard operations include:

• Apply regular sprays of fungicide to prevent disease,
• Hedge vine canopy to reduce shading of fruit,
• Apply dissolved fertiliser through fertigation system,
• Monitor gypsum blocks for soil moisture levels,
• Program irrigation watering times for optimum growth,
• Monitor vineyard for pests and diseases,
• Count bunches of fruit in data panels and estimate crop yield,
• Maintain vineyard records for Quality Assurance system
