Winter (June-August)

Winter is the time for vineyard maintenance and planning for the coming season. Activities include:

• Plan and prepare budgets for the coming year,
• Clean and flush out irrigation system, maintenance on pump equipment,
• Repair broken trellis posts after harvest,
• Plant the mid row cover crop,
• Hand prune vines to balance vine fruitfulness and vigour,
• Mulch vine prunings in mid row,
• Plan spray program for year,
• Drop foliage wire to the ground
