Our Wines

Broomstick Estate concentrates on producing small quantities of ultra premium wine. Our special favourite is Shiraz. This is the icon wine of Australia and especially the Margaret River region.

Shiraz is known as Hermitage in the Rhone Valley in France and commonly known as Syrah in America.

Shiraz is a vigorous variety with a spreading habit of growth. At Broomstick Estate it is grown on a vertical shoot positioning (VSP) trellis system with hand shoot thinning and leaf plucking to contain the vigour and restrict the yield to enhance the quality.

The wine has been allowed to mature in new (60%) and old (40%) French and American oak barrique and hogshead barrels for approximately 12 months. After bottling the wine is left to settle and age further.
